another possible cup holder solution

hey guys,
randomly saw this on ebay and thought it might work for someone trying to add cup holders to their truck.

it is a cup holder tray / drawer system that fits in a 1 DIN hole. so technically, it would fit right underneath the radio in our trucks, if you use a 1DIN radio with the pocket below it.

im sure you would have to make some brackets or something but...it should fit.


i dont know if it would interfere with shifting gears or if it would piss people off to have a cup holder in front of the radio, but its a solution i guess????

Interesting solution, but I know it won't work in mine with the R151F tranny, the shifters are much further forward.

It would probably work for a W-series tranny.

I have seen this, or something similar used in the 80 section. Good idea, wish I had thought of it.

I may just give it a try, I am afraid that the shifter will hit, especially in 5th gear.

something else i was thinking about... the radio console is kind of angled upwards a little bit.

so if you mounted the cup holder deal in square, the tray would tilt up a little, making your cup tilt up a little.

i guess, dont fill it up all the way is one solution...but just something else to be weary about

Good point. Ya I can see hitting a bump and splashing nice hot coffee all over your stereo head unit.

Older Ford Taurus also had a DIN size pop out cup & coin holder, if you're ever in a junk yard. I think it was the 90's ones.
