I have finally got the tires on and have driven the 4runner for a good 600 miles. With 42's she is a bit sluggish on the highway on the hills. I will be taking care of that with some fuel adjustments and a vnt turbo.
And after I get the cage and bumpers done
I think a three link in the front should do me good.

I just got an OM617.951 already setup for a Toy pickup from a guy swapping in a V8 to turn 40s. Just not enough motor for him, but will be perfect for my '85 4x4 on 33s. Make sure you get gearing to take advantage of the higher revs the 617 likes to work at.

Thanks. I got the engine from a local mercedes shop. Actually, I got two for the price of one.
It has torque, but its different than driving a 22re. I can just let out on the clutch pedal and it goes. It is slow until the boost rises though.
I have the lowest gears you can get in a 14bolt. My problem is I need more boost lower, which a vnt turbo will take care of along with some fuel tuning and TMIC. Have fun swapping it. I like driving around in mine, everyone does a double take when they realize the loud diesel driving by is in a 4runner.
