another Bolivia to Steamshovel trip....videos now

A few of us will be camping at the base of Steamshovel next weekend (27MARCH2009-29MARCH2009). We plan on going up Cottonwood (Bolivia) and coming down Steamshovel.

If you want to wheel with a bunch of Jeeps, Broncos, and a Scout.... meet us at the base of Steamshovel Saturday Morning.

Well, I wish I could, but I am in the middle of building....I will definately be making another run out there when I am finished. I just wanna haul it out there on a trailer, unload it, climb the left crack where the water comes thru, load it up and go home. That is the only thing on that trail that I haven't done yet......the hard line on the left!!!!!:steer::grinpimp:

Yeah, but everything else on that trail is easy, and I have made it up the flat side of the rock. I want the hard line.....you gonna try it in the Wuggy?

We'll see.

Good deal!

If you are up for wheeling tomorrow, I am heading to Prison Hill. Some guys from TRG are going to be up there in their buggies. One of the guys just put a new motor in and wants to do some shake down runs. I'll be taking the quads up there to putt around and watch, y'all should come up there!

Sounds like fun.

We drove up to the mouth of Cottonwood Canyon, behind the GeoThermal Plant on Thurday in the Truck/Cabover. I walked up a litte ways and realized that the truck/cabover was not going to be making it up that trail. :grinpimp: We were trying to get up to Bolivia.

Won't be able to make this one, but I do want to make it up there sometime soon.

Good luck and have fun.

You have to climb that big rock to get to Bolivia that way!!! It's not but a few minutes up the trail to the rock. Youtube would love the cabover on that rock!!!:grinpimp::steer:

If it has the offroad stickers.....where's the video of you climbing that rock in it?? :flipoff2:

How far back did you go??

I parked the rig at the big pullout right at the mouth of the canyon and walked up to where the road narrowed into the canyon. I don't think my truck fit on that trail even without the cabover. I have the four door, long bed, so it is pretty much an ocean liner, not a speed boat.

I will be taking the cruiser up that canyon soon though. There were a couple of other trails that we saw on the east side of the range that we would like to explore.

It's not too far up to the rock from where you were. There are a TON of trails in that range!! 10-15 miles back from the Geo plant, there is a ranch house with a big water tank out front, direclty left of there is the start fo the Steam Shovel OHV Trail.

I thought we were in the right area, but I couldn't remember the actual canyon name that Steam Shovel runs up, so I wasn't sure which canyon to look toward.

Here is a picture of the Titanic...
