Another one to add to the list for ATEB. Definitely more power than before. I'm looking forward to some longer trips to see how it performs on long hill climbs! :)

Just GoPro pics right now.

Yep- mine's been on for 2 years I think- No issues- top notch work!

Fully welded I see... Very good work.

Mine is still sitting in the box, looks good!

Good to hear it's standing up :)

Mostly welded. I really like the way they did it with pretty much minimizing the number of joints where couplers can blow off. I'm sure they are getting a bit better with each installation they do!

I think I had mine sitting in the box for about 6 months as well. I think I had purchased pretty much everything they needed to do the install.
  • 2"-2.5" reducer for off the turbo
  • 2.5" ebay piping kit with couplers and clamps (I believe cxracing supplied)
  • cxracing intercooler, 18"x12"x3" with 2.5" in and out, core is only something like 11"x12" but it seems to do the job. I discussed with John about fitting the 24"x12"x3" but decided to go with the smaller one.
I think that's about it. ATEB did the rest.

For a long time I thought I'd go top mount, but after reviewing and considering all pros, cons and options I decided front mount would be a better way to go. A hood scoop for the top mount will look mean, but how much flow are you actually getting in there? Not trying to make this a debate, but I think that was one of the biggest considerations for me. On the front you know you're plowing air through the intercooler.

Did a run up the cut this morning to compare EGT's to before. I really wanted to do a before and after video, but I didn't seem to get time to make the before. EGT probe post turbo....travelling about 85 km/hr I used to run almost 800 F by the time I'd get to the top. This morning I maxed at about 650 F.

That's just crazy....I hit 650 pretty much just leaving the driveway. I haven't driven up the Coq since my gauge install (the same Glowshift as yours) but I would be juggling gears & boost to keep it below 1200 for sure.
I have mine boosting up to 18 similar to yours also.

How are your ATM temps... without a US spec front mounted ATF cooler, which I just installed, I was cooking my ATF on those grades!! After installation my ATF temps are 160F-170F (normal operating range 160F-180F) measured at top of the Coq and Pennask summits.

With mine, which has an aftermarket of some kind tranny cooler in front of the rad, I was pushing 240 or so at times (while towing and loaded *vehicle not me*) on my recent 1500 km trip.
While leaving Kamloops on the big hill through town on the highway) I hit 245 and the light came on. We needed a gas/food break anyways so pulled over at the petro can and let things cool.
Since I had the tranny hose fixed awhile back, that's been the only issue to date. General driving around with no trailer rarely even push 200.

You must have your probe pre-turbo then, no? Mine is post turbo.

It's supposed to read transmission temp below the EGT, but I guess the sensor is in need of replacement. It hasn't worked for about a year and I haven't bothered replacing it. I've never had any transmission temp issues. After I got a new rad I think my temps were only running around 135-140 F when cruising on the highway. I don't remember what it would get to on the Coq, but the highest numbers I've seen were about 230 F and that was when I was driving to get to various ski hills where you're around 60 km/hr and the trans wants to change gear. I think my trans is a bit different from what most of you guys have since my truck is a '94. I have the ECT so I can lock into 3rd by taking it out of overdrive and use the ECT switch to make it hold gears longer.

You have the transmission lock up switch for the A442F?

Jeff - ATF temps above 180F are above the operating range as per FSM - ATM light comes on at 305F

Taking it out of overdrive drops it down to 3rd gear and it won't shift up to 4th. So I guess not a lock-up, but it won't let it shift above 3rd. Before the intercooler install I used to take it out of overdrive when the EGT's started to get high on highway hill climbs. I don't need to do that anymore :)

That may reduce EGTs, but not necessarily ATF temps?

I think his 94 will lock-up in third... I believe Andrews's in Kamloops locks up in third also from the factory?
