Andrew's first truck....

Some of you know my son Andrew. Well, on Tuesday, he spent $1k of his hard earned money (every last dime) on his first truck. We picked up the 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9l v6, 5spd in East Van. 286k on the clock.

It's suprisingly clean and unmolested, with a 2" lift over stock. He picked a good one for its age but now we'll have to learn how to speak Ford.

Awesome, Andrew!!! My first vehicle was an '81 BJ42, and it was love at first sight. I thought it was the most incredible machine ever invented. That was well over twenty years ago, but I'm going to dig up some old photos and post them sooner or later.

It's an old chicken barn at a friend's place where Andrew and I have our shop space to work on 'stuff', you know, in preparation for the end of times.

I had an '88 Ranger supercab 4x4 and loaded, right down to the red velour seats. I sold it to buy my house in '92. I needed something cheaper to replace the truck and ended up with... a BJ70, which didn't stay a cheaper option for very long.

If you end up with questions let me know, a friend of mine wheels one and knows his way around the Ranger very well.
