This damn truck won't let up! Every time I get something fixed something else breaks! Anyhow, lost all power doing 65mph down the interstate; motor would turn over but not crank. Kept blowing AM2 (30amp) fuse by the diag box. As soon as I would tun the key to the on position the fuse would blow. Scoured the internet and knew I had a hard short but no clue where to start. :bang: ENTER WRISTY, who knows his stuff and was very willing to help (thanks again). He told me where to start looking for wire problems and he was right on. It just took us 8 hours with an ohm meter to chase it down:doh:. Finally found the wire with the short by checking the plug at the ignition with it on. Found the wire and followed it everywhere. Thanks to 2NDGEN as well. Problem ended up being in the harness which we very obviously laid in the wrong place after the engine rebuild. The grounded wire was all the at the back against the block and had melted through (black wire with a red stripe) Also found some more burnt wires, but not in the main harness. So if you start blowing this fuse I hope this gives you some direction. Hopefully this week will be uneventful!
