I'm pretty sure this was a dealer installed Am radio. It resides in my LV.

And now, after a little attention

That looks awesome! Very cool:cool:. I am looking to do the same thing with a radio I got for the 40, any advice, or trade secrets you'd be willing to share? Brendon

I'd love to get a hold of one of those for my LV. There's a guy where we live who does old radio repairs and restoration/updating.

Thanks guys. I'm stoked on it too. I disassembled the radio then used 1000 grit wet or dry on the chrome. I had to find a happy medium between getting the stains and rust off and dulling the chrome. I found that if I used a light touch I was happy. A little rubbing compound when I was done brought the shine back. I'm sure a product like Semichrome would work even better. I used an old toothbrush and Simple Green on all the plastic then wiped it with clean Simple Green on a small piece of old washcloth making sure to get in between the buttons. The chrome plastic on the knob base needed a little rubbing with the wet 1000 grit paper to get the green oxidation off. Last thing was to buff the buttons and knobs with the Dremel tool on low speed with some of the Dremel polishing compound. Wiped everything off with a clean washcloth and resembled.

Now you guys have me wondering if it even works :hhmm:
