stay the hell away from this stuff :crybaby::crybaby: after finally getting the parts i need'ed before i could get the truck to the shop the last trip was to the rad shop after taking out the rad and well even after all the flushes and what not they did no good that grainy stop leak chit turned to concrete inside of my rad. caused the over heating and the head gasket to blow you should see the new walls inside of my rad looks like amaze even after a acid bath and a boil no fix

Ya dude I think everybody else is on par with never ever using that stop leak crap.

Sorry to hear you had to learn this the hard way.

Yep, the stuff sux donkey bols.

FWIW..Pliars, acetalyne, a lighter, and some solid silver solder and acid flux are a farmers (*and wheelers) best friends.

I've fixed a cracked top cap by draining things into a fast food cup, torched off the paint and prepped/filled with the acid and flux, as well as just pinching off tubes to get home. Always cheaper to buy a new radiator worst case than a rebuild.

Look at it like this, you can build a better engine now. :hillbilly:

years ago Alumaseal or BARS Leak (can't remember) made the radiator on my '88 p/u explode . . . it clogged the overflow hose from the radiator cap which let it build pressure till the copper and the end tanks couldn't take any more

i know every one is up to par no chit . it's the whole point of what it did not the fact that i used it

did you see those mythbusters guys confirm that that works? =P

btw I don't think anyone is trying to point at your misfortune and say you were stupid for doing it, its just that so many people have had similar problems to what you had its easy to relate to is all.

You going to be able to get into ripping that engine apart any time soon?

yeah as soon as i can get the shop fee ready then im gonna have the head checked , surfaced then new hg, tc cover and pumps. there is at least a 2 layer cement coat in the old rad i dunno how it ran but some how it did up to the point it made it over heat and mix
