Alternator? (1 Viewer)

'94 FZJ-80. At idle with the blowers on, stereo, headlights, and wipers, the voltmeter dipped to 12V, and the wipers slowed down. Alternator? I am thinking about rewiring it, as I am going to put a set of auxillary lights on it, and maybe another amplifier for the stereo.

Thoughts?!?!!?

I'd throw a set of brushes in it first and make sure connections are clean and good. You should see 13+ish volts at idle if all is in good order.
Brushes are super easy to do when doing an oil change as you have plenty of room with the oil filter out.

Also new or at least tighten your belts.

I see the same on my LC. I tighten the belts and it's good for another 15K miles.
