Like most of us on here, I like finding the most cost effective solution. Eventually, I want to mount a GoPro camera to document my adventures; until then, I want to use what I have. My cell phone has become a vital tool in the last few months than I had realized. Not only does my Droid Bionic act as a phone, but also as my speedometer, GPS, turn-by-turn navigation, radar detector (when paired with the iRadar from Cobra), and battery meter. I decided that I also wanted to utilize its 1080hp video recorder. In my first attempt in creating a mount was used more for the above listed features. The second mount I would create would be useful for not only the above uses, but also for the camera.
The first mount used was simple and got the job done. However, it didnt allow for video recording. Using the phones Otter Box as the housing, I applied velcro to both the mount and Otter Box case (first picture).
The second mount was by dumb luck. Using the same Otter Box case, I cut a window using my Dremel. I then searched for some sort of swivel mount. Luckily, my Garmin GPS mount clipped on to the back of the Otter Box perfectly.
