does anyone know of an alternate charcoal canister that can be used in an FJ62? I am hoping to find something that could be obtained as new shelf stock and not cost $350 bucks. Mounting is not an issue, just functionality.

Oh yeah, I ordered one as well... Going to try to hook it up soon. My stocker has 3 ports, this one has 2. I'm just going to install a T-fitting and hope that works.

Please let me know how that goes. Mine was not working. I read about reversing the hoses which I did and it got rid of the fuel vapor build up in the can. Engine runs great too. But, I kind of like to keep things the way they were meant to be. I'll be curios about the install and results.

reviving this, those that have done this upgrade to the afermarket canisters are you keeping the check valves in inline ?
I’ll check under the hood this afternoon. Still running the autozone vc120…

I do not have any check valves under the hood on my application. 86 fj60 2f complete into fj55. I do know there is a check valve at the vapor separator. But at the canister, or any hoses hooked to it other than from the tank as mentioned, no check valves. Can’t recall if the VC120 is internally checked- it might be.
