Yes. Its the only way to get your order in. Lol.Ok so I know I'm a little slow...but do I owe you all 2600 for the 79 tub upfront?
No worries. Theres a lot of logistics involved and it all costs money. If you still want a tub let me know. CheersI must have misunderstood various other posts regarding a deposit and complete payment upon receipt...but got it.

NIB retainer from a dealer's shelf, NIB backing plate from Iran, NIB output shaft (Sea Master...not that difficult a score, really) from Oz, and NIB drum and bearing from Sir Georg.
Not bragging, just saying the "rarities" are out there, although this vintage is unlikely in SA, and (in my opinion) better options exist, like you said, being FF 40/70 axle swaps.
Current listing in classifieds that has what Jeff is looking for and includes the split case and H55, minus the top plate, for for reasonable money. If one parted out the cases, may wind up with the ebrake for a couple of hundred bucks.
Edited: to futher...
Georg was getting set up to cut down 60 housings to 40 width and Joe K has plans to move perches on 70 axles, which work, too.
