Yeah that mud pit below the hill sucks, that gave us the most troubles.

How about this one before the burnout...

That one both my Tacoma and buddy Scott's Tacoma made through with no issues. My friend Alex got hung up in his jeep about half way across. Quick tug and he was out.

Looks like fun. so no issues finding trees close enough to recover yourselves? Is there any one place that
it could be a problem finding something to tie a winch to?

Lots of trees - but if you bail out early along the Rainbow Trail there is spot with nothing around.

I'd watch in the burn sections too. Some of those trees are really just sitting there, and a winch would take them right over.

We went as far west as possible
bridge2.JPG
near the Tweedsmuir Park boundary, over the top of the Itcha IIgatchuz park and then down
road 21 to Anahim Lake, then Hwy 20 to Bella Coola. You can't drive through the park except via hwy 20.

It is impossible to do the entire trail from Williams Lake to Bella Coola by vehicle since a large section of it passes through a park. The trail in the park is a single track barely in good enough condition for a person with a horse (but that was 6 or 7 years ago).
Bill, that picture is not the McKenzie, that was Gaspard to Hungry Valley.

I stand corrected; your memory is better than mine!

The jeep jk and 91 toyota never ended up making the trip. Some
Mechanical issue with the Toyota and mid communication on holidays for the jeep. My grey Tacoma had a broken winch solenoid, white Tacoma had some frog end damage near the end of the trip(ball joints) and the Cherokee had no problems at all. Just some scratches for all of us really. No flats either, or major body damage.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing!!
