Randy, the destination server is telling me that this addy is no good.

LOL... you did not follow the thread closely enough Roger... Charla is putting this together with me and will be ready to boss you around on the trail :grinpimp:

Mark...

Clearly, there were already 5 pages when I realized the thread was up, so being busy I looked at the first page then jumped to the last page and requested a packet. Rob's and my checks went in the mail today from Seattle.

Possibly you have some low size restrictions on incoming files? This packet is only 2330K though.

Just an FYI... We have fees in hand for 8 confirmed participants as of 5PM today. Three more packets/payments assumed enroute via USPS. I will send out confirmations to those folks this evening if we have not already.

With the support truck, Kevin, Charla and myself, we are at an assumed count of 14 rigs right now. and also we have one invitee who has not confirmed but is expected to. And none of our Locals have had a chance to join in yet either. Looks like we are looking at having to push the limit up a little. We can not push it much. We really do not want to reach 20 rigs total. We are NOT trying to rush anyone or push, but it would be wise to not delay if this is something you really want to do.

Even getting up in the morning can be attractive sometimes :)

Hey Mark,

Do you have any pics of some of the more challenging aspects of the trip? The types of expected water crossings and mud holes we'll encounter? Sun blocked out by swarms of bugs..... ;)

edit - I see some good shots in Gina collection, but would love to see more if you've got some handy.

We are usually too busy "doing" to take pictures when it gets tough.

That said... the limits of water crossing are simply what is and is not doable. I will see if I have any shots of water washing over hoods around here anywhere.

We have drowned a couple of rigs on the trails we will be running. I swamped and floated a mini-truck late one night a few years back

The worst mud we will see will be on trail sections that we know exist but have not actually run yet. Hope to do some aerial scouting of those sections on Sunday if the weather agrees. And of course we will include those in our pre-run prior to the Trek.

This is assuming that we hit the Tok-Paxson area as planned. That area does not have a *lot* of mud in the higher country, but we will see a lot if we manage to come out via the low land trails that we are hoping to follow. Possibly impassable amounts of swamp for a larger group of non-hardcore rigs like we will have.
If we wind up along the eastern edges of the Talkeetna Mountains again this year, we may hit some different trails than we did in 2008 and see a bit more mud. Rivers there are generally smaller and shallower than in the Tok-Paxson area.

Anyway, I will see if I can find some more "action oriented" shots and post them up.

We will get some maps and hopefully Google Earth route overlays out to everyone shortly too.

Only hard part some places is finding the trail... and keeping track of the guy in front of you :)

A lot of the water crossings are not at all difficult.

Others are a little deeper but still no real worries
