I am in the process of replacing the Aisin hubs on my 1990 FJ 62. Can someone explain how to remove the hub body? I cannot get the studs loose. Any insight would be helpful?

There is also a lock ring that is located on the axle shaft. Lock ring pliers work best, the ones with the "duck bill" tips.

I've been trying to find "lock ring pliers" online, and can't. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? Any suggestions? Could you post a pic (I've never seen them before). Thanks.Invest the money now on a decent set of lock ring (NOT SNAP RING) pliers from your local auto parts store (while you are there get a seal puller (looks like a axe that need some viagra)) and do this right.... Ask me how I know and about the cut in the crook of my finger that has finally just healed some 4wks later.
Perfect... Thank you!
Sorry for the newbie question, but what's "R&R" mean? The shop manual gives a good description of how to R&R those parts...and I think their is a maintenance supplement or and addendum to the manual that I acquired somewhere that has a good set of instructions and illustrated drawings/pics.
