Airlift airbag Question

Anyone else running Airlift bags ever blow either the air line or the bag itself.

I'm running them in my rear coils of my 80 for towing and they've been great. IIRC they've been in there a good 4+ years.

Went to check both sides recently and DS had no pressure. Started putting in air and heard a hissing from the coil.

I haven't had time to jack the truck up high enough to see if it's the air line or the bag yet, so just a curious question at this point. It'd be nice if only the connector has some loose and not a wear point in either the line or the bag.

No Airlift dealers that I've called here in OC sell the 1/4" line by itself. I can order the line from Airlift for a whooping $.51/foot, so it's not expensive.

I even put the air line encased in wiring loom sheathing to protect it.

I haven't used the coil ones, but the bags for the leafs. I had a hole rub, I think from rocks and dirt getting stuck between the bag and the bottom plate.

I'm hoping that's not the case, but it's a real possibility.

there's a good chance that the nipple got a little tweaked and the black air hose is the problem. Do you know exactly where the air is escaping from? It's probably a kinked air hose that has rubbed through right where it goes on the nipple.

I bought them for the 4Runner...but haven't gotten them on yet. I heard all good things so far to date.

Nexts weekend's project - out of town this past weekend. I don't know yet where it's coming from. Going to have to break out the hi-lift to get her high enough to completely 'unweight' the coil take a good look. Hope it's just the air hose - $.51 a foot from Airlift. None of the local Airlift dealers sell 'just' the hose tho, so I'll pay more for shipping than for the darn hose. Sheez!

You won't be disappointed. I ran a weight distribution hitch before the airbags and between the two, IMHO, the airbags are much, much better.

another thing that I do is to raise the vehicle, place a tall jack under the slider, remove the wheel and let the floor jack down slowly. This lower the axle quite a bit low and opens up the bag nipple area for easy access. Just another approach!

Hmmm...interesting approach - only have regular jacks, but it might work.

I've got the ARB hi-lift adapter for bumpers and can bolt it on the Kaymar and with a 60" hi-lift I 'think' I can get the truck up high enough to completely expose everything I need to - and safely I hope!

I've got the hoses routed up and out the top of the coil so I need to expose that area. I know the original install specs from Airlift had the hoses out the bottom of the coil, but that made no sense to me or the original installer at 4WheelParts.
