I just thought maybe I was missing a step. Like needing to bleed the lines full before starting the pump.
I think the main point is to bleed system to take pressure off. Then you can replace parts safely.

Something i ran into on this. I recently replaced my pump and after I replaced it I was getting the same “error”. Stuck in low with “off” light flashing. I thought I was screwed. I removed the AHC fuse correlating with the pump and Put it back in (did not use a new fuse). And then the pump began to work immediately.

I’m not sure if this means my previous pump was fine and there was just some kind of miscue going on. I don’t have the guts to swap it back to check.

Either way, may be helpful for someone else if they see this thread.

502,000 mile AHC pump finally began acting weak and not holding LX in high mode.

First time being worked on, I removed pump, cleaned screens and pump surfaces and replaced two O rings that were visibly bad. No jelly sludge like I have found before in my '06 LX but just thin grime.

Put pump back together and reinstalled. Filled reservoir and cranked her up. LX moved up to N then to H and stayed put nicely...but still slower than normal. Not convinced all is good just yet until the pump raises Lx a bit quicker.
