Hello,
So, this happened today after some offroading. I didn't lift the AHC and went in standard mode all the way.

This is LX470 2006 with 200k miles. AHC previously worked fine.
After this blowout happened, I've driven about 150 more miles home - a mix of offroad and highway and didn't notice anything unusual with the way the car drove.

Does this shock absorber need replacement?

Thanks!

Leaking "shocks" are usually a sign that the system is over pressure and needs to be adjusted/maintained.

I read this thread but it mostly talking about leaking/sweating shocks. Here it looks like it dumped a huge amount of oil at once, so wasn't sure if that's just leaking due to over-pressure or can be considered a complete failure?

If your pressures are in spec I’d call it a failure.
