I understand that 285/75r16 tires will fit without any additional modifications, but I'm curious if dropping AHC into L causes them to rub? I imagine the answer is 'yes' but haven't found a clear answer. I park on a declined driveway and AHC likes to often make adjustments, and would like to avoid the constant issue if it's then a poor fit. Thanks.

Should be just fine. I have even larger tires on my factory height LX, with more aggressive than stock offset wheels (more likely to rub) and they barely kissed the fender liner before i reshaped it.

285/75/16 on factory wheels should clear just fine, even in L.

One of the nice things about the 100 is that the rub with large tires occurs at the 3 and 9 o clock positions. Lift doesn't really change what tire size you can run. L, N or H, all pretty much the same clearance unless you lift a LOT.
