I was mostly curious about the 'gears' on the wiper pivots and whether you thought they could be 'retrofitted' to stock wiper pivots.
After having the 'old' style of FJ55 wiper arm pop off, I'm a bit paranoid about clip on style wiper arms
In my case, the radio sits in too deep for the stock passenger side pivot to even work
I think it would be pretty difficult to retrofit the stock wiper arms.
I wouldn't worry about the wiper arms popping off. The clip style arms I have are a PITA to remove. I've already buggered the wiper arms trying to get them off to re-position their sweep.
I'm more worried about the paint wearing off where the wiper sweeps beyond the windshield and rubs the A-pillar.
