how many folks here have an aftermarket radiator and would either recommend one or would not recommend one and why?

Nobody recommends nothing,
Cheers,

The one I got from Performance Radiator in Phoenix is a 3 core brass radiator with plastic tanks. In fact, it looks exactly like the stock one ('94). So much so I'd wager the company makes them for Toyota. It was right at $300 with tax. I don't remember the name of the company that made it, it's in one of the threads about radiators within the last 6 months or so.

I had a radiators express radiator that I was happy with until it crapped out after 2 or 3 years I then put in a toyota and the fit and finish is a lot better and I'm happy with it.

Koyo is the manufacturer of the radiator I got from Performance Radiator. Don't know if it's the same company that makes wheel bearings, but that was the impression I got.

I have seen one of those and it does look like the OEM piece. I did not have them side-by-side however.

I had to replace my radiator several months ago. Timing was not ideal to secure a Toyota rad, so I went with a Koyo that looks--and so far--behaves just like the original. Of course only time will really tell. But during our sweltering 100+ days and back and forth drives over the Cascades with AC on hi, my cooling (according to my dash gauge, and yes I know how innaccurate they are) has never been better (at least the indicator is consistently lower than its ever been.)

Once i get a new Rad I'll just go with a desert race style radiator and fan conbined. Ditch the stock fan and radiator.

my $.02 not TLC conservative

My Koyo just arrived today. All nice and shiny. Out of the box it looks just like the OEM without the stamp on top. Got a smokin' deal on it. <$180 shipped to my door. :) Can't wait to pull the old one and compare them. Now, if only CDan would check his PMs...:bounce:

I've had dozens of cars over the years, and never had much luck with aftermarket radiators. However, I've never tried any of the really high end ones. I just decided in the long run, that generally OEM was better than what I could get in the aftermarket. But that was almost entirely with Japanese cars. Not as much experience with domestics. And none with European cars.

Good deal. What's the source?
It was an ebay deal. Only one I've ever seen on there though. Sorry.
