Newbie question here. Not really a newbie to MUD or wrenching, but my 40 I used to have came with a V*, so not too familiar with the 2F yet, so looking for some advice here, I'm probably missing something easy.

I'm trying to remove my cylinder head from my '79 2F, have all the bolts out, rocker assy removed, and I have the seal from the gasket broken, but it's not coming off, I seem to have resistance on the PS.

Do I need to remove that cover on the passenger side of the block and get to something else I'm not seeing?

Thanks Much

No need to remove the side cover. X2 on the hidden middle headbolt, but if you got the rockershaft off, you'd see it. And if you've broken the seal of the gasket, you probably have all the bolts out. I recall that there is a notch on the bottom of the head that you can put a slot screwdriver into to help lift the head a little.
Remember, that is one heavy chunk of iron.

1. Remove Tampon
2. Grow balls
3. Lift

:flipoff2:

I'm kidding, but it really is pretty heavy. You will probably have to stand with one foot on each fender well and lift stright up. Remember, lift with your legs, not your back (doctors orders.)

Takeluck

Ha, good advice! Although that's not usually my problem:). I'm usually breaking something, so disn't want to destroy anything because I was hast or missing something.

Anyways, after some goosd advice from fellow MUD-ers, the head is now sitting on my workbench.

Thanks ALL!
