This statement perplexes me:

Why use old tooling? It‘s not like the concept of camshafts in motors has run its course. At least not yet until everything’s electrically motorized.

No clue.....perhaps it isn't a big enough issue to warrant replacing the tooling. As long as my engine runs well, I'm not gonna complain. Now, if I was building a high RPM race engine, it would be a different matter, but we're talking about a glorified tractor engine.
