Morning all,
Apologies for lack of detail - am not the mechanic - asking for other half. HDJ100R-GNMEZ. Gremlins appeared - lights on, windows not working etc., in very rural place, auto elec could not fix. OH identified issues with ABS skid assy (89540-60400), block, cowl side junction RHD (82731-60170) and block assy eng junction (have managed to find this part). On the ABS skid assy, found second hand one ex Oz (and am in Africa) and sent original for repair so fingers crossed one of those 2 will work. Issue is the 82731-60170 - have asked Toyota, all Japanese sites, searched Oz breakers / Ebay etc., and can't find it. The box is not completely malfunctioning - can start, aircon works - have taken off and tried to clean thoroughly but still issues with lights and windows. OH very reluctant to send the box out of country as could be made worse or be lost in which case would be utterly stuck. So, onto the advice am looking for ...
Similar part - AI telles me similar parts like 82731-60180 / 82731-60200 - might work with a few glitches - if these were only for i.e. windows, lights etc., could then put in additional fuse box (not remove original one), and rewire these items separately - OH can do this but another AI tells me that this wont work and may fry something else. Has anyone had any experience with this? Toyota do not provide any info other than the original box is discontinued i.e. no compatibility info provided.
Best ever place for repair - closest country could send to with ECU repairs is South Africa but google reviews for companies very mixed and if send it somewhere that makes it worse / loses it, will be stuffed. Does anyone have a recommendation for most brilliant place that would be safe to send it to - anywhere, will fedex anywhere trusted.
Somewhere else to look for part - is there a breaker where can literally give part number and sits on alert or similar or a breaker that will actually look for parts based on the number?

Any and all advice appreciated, poor Lagertha (car) been sitting for over a month now and hoping someone can come up with a brilliant plan that we have failed to think of.

Thankyou.

Land Cruiser Heaven is a good suggestion.

Electrical gremlins are most often due to: water intrusion; corrosion; failed/damaged ECU. I would make sure everything is dry, clean every connection point and harness connection possible, then replace the ECU before replacing other components.

Thanks for replies and suggestions - Patron, that part is 82730 starting as opposed to 82731 ... not sure whether this would work as different AI's seem to have differing opinions as that I think is the Lexus equivalent part. Waiting to hear back from Land Cruiser Heaven . Thanks again.

Just make sure you get the right part. I picked up a left side fuse box from a Dubai reseller. Looked identical. It didn't work. I had to swap it again for a GCC spec one.
