Add an iPod jack?

I have a nice Kenwood head unit in my dash. It's maybe 8-10 years old if I remember right. Will a stereo shop be able to add an iPod jack to that?

If your deck has a CD changer input or some other auxiliary input then it's possible.

If you have a separate amplifier providing power to your speakers that also opens up a possibility for something between the deck and amp.

Kenwood's KOS-A300 radio upgrade system lets you add sources to any factory radio with a 3.5mm auxiliary input. There's no complicated installation — all you have to do is connect its hideaway box to your auxiliary input and start plugging in new sources.

So if you don't already have an aux input on your radio this won't work. And if you do have an aux input you could just connect your iPod directly - which will display song info and control itself...
