My AC has been cranking out ice cold air all summer. Last night I thought I smelled an electrical melting/burning odor. Suddenly the AC is not working. My theory is it is near the switch. I don't hear it come on or engage but the on light is working. Any thoughts on what this might be?

Is the clutch engaging when you push the button?

Did you look in the sight glass on the dryer to see if refrigerant is moving?

Did you check the fuses behind the glove box?

Don't think so. will double check.

It was cranking ice cold air yesterday. I will check.

Did you check the fuses behind the glove box?

I will check. thanks

This can either be a wiring problem, or if you have a leak, then the low pressure switch is not allowing the compressor to engage. Time to make an appointment to have someone with the proper equipment to look at it.
