So a few months back i desmogged and am just getting around to fixing this issues.

The problem arises whether in idle or driving I turn the AC Blue Power Button on in the dash, the vacuum activates the AC Idle Up valve but it does not shut off. The truck continues to accelerate in rpms. Anyone have a clue what is causing this a bad AC Idle Up ( i just bought a new one and replaced it), or maybe a wrongly routed vac line?

Any help is appreciated.

When you turn on AC, the VSV on the right fender gets power and opens the valve, which connects the idle-up dashpot on the carb to a vacuum source. When you remove power (turn off AC), the valve removes the vacuum from the dashpot, and the internal spring (and the throttle spring) should return the little arm to the regular idle position. Unless I have forgotten. Should be simple to test...

do you have a picture on the right one maybe i removed that vsv and forgot to put it back in during desmog

Maybe just needs the set screw adjusted for the AC idle up adjustment on the carb to limit the RPMs.

you sir deserve an Emmy award. I dont know why but for some reason my dumb self thought that screw was the idle adjustment screw this entire time. i had it cranked way to far down hence why it did not change my idle at all.........

Ok now next problem the A/C seems to be working but after 3-4 mins on high it trips the breaker in the fuse box and cuts off. Bad Breaker? or what?

Ya it runs all day just not on high...... Its tripping the big breaker in there with the silver cap
