AC concerns

My 13 Lx AC acting funny, Ill try to explain it as much as i can. During idle its not blowing cold enough as it should, but as soon as i drive its doing its job perfectly. The system is filled to spec but sometimes i do hear the compressor engage and disengage idk if thats normarl or not. And one more thing the rear ceiling vents isnt blowing cold air. Any one has had any experience with their ac system

I replaced the full system including condenser, compressor etc with flushing the system a few years ago. Only thing remaining was to pull the dash apart. Ran okay for 2 years, but then last year It lost its cooling - same sequence - started with hot air from rear vents,within a few days front also lost its cooling. Checked the gas, it was low, so refilled, but went out again. Found tow leaks. fixed them.

Okay for another year but now back at it again - hearing that whine from compressor but cools well.

Currently the truck is at garage for a proper check-up.
Oh and here its hot, 45C+ ambient temp.

i know a have a very small leak somewhere, i took it to the dealership few years ago and they couldnt find the leak, then last year i took it a ac professional shop they also said no leak. Both did a pressure test and dye. No leaks. Im thinking it gotta be from inside the truck.

If you have corrosion it is most likely at one of the hard line unions above the exhaust resonator, under the floor of the vehicle roughly below the rear AC unit. You’ll see two aluminum lines there, one skinny and one thicker.. there is a metal lug for each that joins the line under the vehicle with the lines going through the floor into the rear AC. Quite common to have refrigerant leaks at that spot in salt states.

i found old dye stains under the compressor next to the oil filter housing. I cleaned the whole entire area with brake cleaner and added small amount of new dye to the ac system. imma check back in few days. I might have a bad o-ring from the compressor to the lines

To @bloc's point, it is evidently common for the rear A/C lines, where they enter the cab, to rust.

If the professional shops are using die and/or in tests find that the system holds vacuum, may want to inspect the high and low A/C fill ports. These aren't tested as the test equipment hooked up through them. They can definitely develop leaks.
