Resurrecting this old thread instead of creating a new one in the hopes that @flintknapper might be able to chime in.

The A/C Compressor in my 100 siezed and I now need to fix the system. I've sourced a new Denso compressor and OEM condenser. I was getting ready to take it to a shop to have the system evacuated (it is still sealed) and flushed so I could put everything back together and recharge it when they quoted me "about $1,000"....OK, guess I'm doing it myself.

That brings me here and to this thread. I now know that:

1) I need to take the entire system apart, including the two evaporator cores, to do a proper flush
2) that it might not be possible to properly flush them
3) that it might not be possible to properly flush the two lines with 'mufflers' on them

I'm hoping someone can shed light on points 2 & 3 above... Assuming I take the system apart and flush each component individually, will flushing be sufficient to clean any debris out of the evaporator cores? I can source new ones at ~$170 each for Denso from Rock Auto, but would prefer not to drop a ton of $$$ if it's not needed.

For the hoses with the mufflers, i can source one of them new (~$34), but can't find the other.. Can I flush those??

And finally, I can only source the front expansion valve new from Denso.. The rear I can only find from Four Seasons.. Any issue with this? Is it worth replacing it?
