Anybody planning on going to the Abbotsford Airshow? Looks like Friday will be the best day for the weather. Plan on taking the family for one day. Would be nice to line up a row of club member rigs.

We were out at Albert Dyke Park cooling off at the lake there last night when the Snow Birds came in. They put on a free mini-show a couple hundred feet above the lake before landing. They are up practicing right now buzzing the house on their down wind turns.

Ahhh, yes. THe good old days. Airshow 2003:

Someone's got a private airshow lot from the looks of those pics? That's not your typical airshow blast furnace parking.

Kim, I will talk to SWMBO tonight to confirm. What time are you thinking of arriving. We could meet at Timmy's by the Automall aound 9:30 or 10:00 AM and go from there. I am planning on bringing a tent fly to tie off on the roof rack (if needed), some chairs and a cooler with drinks and lunch fixings.

Airshow

That sounds good, John. I spoke to my wife and she thought it was a decent idea, except for the heat. I told her that we'll deal with the heat. :)

I could bring a tarp and we could tie it between our vehicles if need be.

Sounds good. Mine also agreed. 10:00 am okay for meeting up at Timmy's?

Its suppose to cool down tomorrow. Hopefully the clouds will hold off until after Friday.

Great. See you then.

Anyone else? If you feel like taking Friday off work :), you will know where to find us.

I just did that. I made an executive decision and am taking another Friday off. Last weekend was drywalling at a buddies house. I owed him because he helped with my shop roof.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for such a crazy day (it all changes with young kids right?) It would have been nice to hang out with you all. Both of your family's are really nice. One of these days we'll get out wheeling and maybe a picnic would be fun too.

Hope you guys had a good time. My daughter was desperate to leave around 3pm, I held her off till 3:45 (hoping to see the snow birds) but she had a melt down and we had to pack it in.

It was nice to meet you in person, Rob. I'm sure we'll have lots of time to chit chat (see your turbo in detail) in the future. :)

I sure we all completely understand the fickle nature of young children.

Cheers.

It was good to see you again Rob. We've been there with the toddlers. Its still crazy when they get older - just a different crazy. Still was a good day at the airshow. The free show yesterday from our house was pretty good too. The low cloud kept the jets a couple hundred feet over the tree tops on the East side of town.

The window regulator on the rear right-hand window regulator decided to break when we got home. I spent the better part of yesterday trying to save myself $240 by fixing something that's not supposed to be fixed. Most of the time was spent looking for 3/8 rivets - the biggest I could find in Abby was 1/4. Anyways its back together and working with a home-made shear pin now in the drive cog. It was tack welded to the shaft and the weld broke.
