I went pretty basic on the motor so that I can play with gearing then choose a motor in the end to match my needs. The 45T Torquemaster was really chosen as an upgrade to the bomber. It will give it a little more speed as the boy gets better at driving.

So the Easter Bunny paid the boy a visit last night and delivered a Vanquish Stage One kit in blue.

Holmes 45T torquemaster installed. This motor is destined for the Bomber but I’ll use it to dial in my gear choices in the mean time then select my preferred motor.

I haven’t had good luck with the hobby shop servos on my crawlers. So I tried an equivalent priced Chinese one with more torque just to see. 4-5 later and I have only broken one. Granted I jumped my Bomber about 4’ high off of a dirt pile and it landed out in the flat. It tore a Revo rod end apart on the links I made from 3/16” rod, too.

Banggood has a US warehouse that can get them to you in just a couple of days also.

Nice! They are sure fun and easy to catch the bug. I started with a losi crawler and then went with the MOA XR10 which i built up. That thing will go almost anywhere but now it sits on the shelf too much.

Holmes servo finally arrived but it was the wrong one. So I had the RC shop wire it up anyway with an external BEC. I was tired of waiting. My son more so, as he needs a crawling buddy.

I’m going to run it now for a while and see if any weak links show themselves. Then over the winter I’ll get my new body done as I cant stand this Jeep crap.

Raining at the house, but it ran strong at the RC shop parking lot. Steering servo is putting out 500oz. Had him re-program the ESC as a pure crawler. I can’t do it at home with my Mac :(.
