Hi, first post here and I have got alot of questions. First off I resently bought a '68 FJ 40 which I plan to make a trail only rig. Second I own the doner truck in which the TBI 350 lies. Needing to know what of the factory wiring off it (Blazer) I should save.

i would save the engine harness. you'll need the hot lead for the coil for sure. maybe save the column and wiring for it.
what harness do you plan on running; howell or painless? i've run both and like the howell better.
also, is the donor truck an extra-cab? i need a window for mine (fawking thieves!)

HideeHo....

You can reuse the stock harness on the TBI doner.....I did, and while it was 3 days of trimming wire and such to get it short enuf, I also know my harness quite well. Plus, it's way cheaper than any aftermarket kit. The TBI harness is mostly separate from the balance...really, save everything, just in case...

Hit the tech links, read them all....see you back here posting in, oh, two weeks....lol

I remember years ago a mechanic friend of mine went this route, re-using all the GM sensors and did such a good install (no bogus codes stored in the ECM) that he was able to get GM parts replaced under warranty! SWEEEEET

Thanx for the help. I am trying to get away from tearing up to much of the wiring so i can resell the Blazer. Guess i'll check into Painless and if someone could shoot me a link to Howell that would be cool. if they are out of my budget I can always pull one at the salvage yard.
