I found a great deal on this nearly new 3 spoke steering wheel from a 2014 Avalon XLE. This unit is, IMO, light years above the stock 200 unit in the design and style department. A tad more research is required to make sure the air bag is compatible, but I suspect it is. Some of the steering wheel controls will need a few pin changes as this later model wheel has more functions than the existing unit in the 2009 LC. This one does't have the paddle shifters, but they can be added.

Brian:
It will be interesting to see how much work is required to make this viable. thanks for posting up

Quick trial fit... bolts right in. Air bag plugs in and ECU is happy w/ it. I changed the pin for the horn, now to find some time to complete the remaining functions… all look do-able.

Wow, that really changes the look from the driver's seat. Please keep us posted on the pin swaps and overall feel.

That looks great Brian. Can I assume the diameter is slightly smaller? It looks like it is.

It feels very nice in hand to drive with a proper ergonomic steering wheel in the 200. Overall Diameter is very slightly smaller at 15.1", vs 15.35" of the 200 wheel. Grip is slightly larger in diameter.

I really like that wgeel. I'd like to have one with a slightly thicker grip too.

That does look nice! It looks to have the "mouse" controls like in the RX. Does the Avalon have a similar interface to the RX?

I would like the new tundra wheel from the 1794 which has the radar cruise. I bet it could fit the 200. I like the thicker wheel and contours for hands.

Those look great. I like a fatso grippy steering wheel. Maybe a guy could leather-wrap a stocker?

This was my thoughts exactly, couldn't we just have a leather place wrap the entire stock steering wheel a bit fatter, and over the fake wood...

Yes, the stock steering wheel can be recovered in what ever floats your boat… thick, thin, leather, alcantara ,carbon fiber, wood. There are many companies that do it.

I know that Canguro Racing has paddle shifters, but I’ve often wondered if it was just a simple steering wheel swap.
Did you ever experiment with paddle shifters?

Yes, the paddles should be relatively easy to add. They were easy on my 08 Tundra... but I have not looked at any of the recent wiring diagrams for LC models. At a minimum, it is doable.
