Ordered my front spacers... now to wait for them to get shipped from one state away.

nice runner, good direction on the buildup aswell. looking forward to seeing the rest of it come together.

Got the spacers in last week, Wheeler's Off Road was excellent to deal with.

Now to finish finals this week... :bang:

Then I can pick up some steel, bust out the sliders and install the spacers. Oh and fab the rear spacers too. :wrench:

I also ordered a Ferret Tyre Deflator from Australia today. Looking forward to testing it out in the snow this winter!

Cool looking deflator... It's like the one I use but without a PSI gauge.

I like the kind that you have, I was considering one but I'm running short on storage space in the runner. So I opted for something smaller. 1psi drop per second is pretty cool too.

Santa is getting me a Viair 88p for Christmas too. :grinpimp:

Mine is about 1 psi / sec. It functions the same way. Too bad about the Viair... Maybe you can sell it for CO2. :p

So you lug the CO2 around in the Lexus every day? :flipoff2:

I like the Viair for a daily driver 4x4. Small enough to fit in the cubby hole and still powerful.

... And slow. Yes, the CO2 will be in the Lexus. The mount will be built into my rear load deck.

Fine, fine... I guess you have to keep up with the other soccer moms who have CO2 in their Lexus. :D

So Christmas break has been BUSY as hell... we literally spent a week doing nothing but Christmas prep and celebrations. Not that I'm complaining, this year was damn good to me. Making a truck-based Christmas list was the best thing I did! :D

I received (among other non-4runner things):

Viair 88p
Magnaflow muffler
Hella horns
B&M Transmission cooler (late birthday present, but I'm still counting it)

And I bought myself the Ferret Tyre Deflator! This thing is so cool... 1psi drop per second, hand made in Australia, small enough to fit on a keyring. Not to mention the excellent customer service from Rod, the owner. I put it on a ring and made a little 550 cord thing to go on it.

Unscrew the knob, screw the tool onto the valve, engage the knob onto the valve core and thread it out. Count down the seconds and thread the core back in.

I also got around to installing the horns today. Not much to say about, it was pretty easy. I made a wiring harness and relayed them. 1.5 hours well spent.

The stock horns SUCK as you all know, and these are a great replacement.

Bolted into the stock holes.

Cool little hint of red under the grill (though they come in black if red isn't your thing)

I don't know if I'll get around to the sliders and spacers this week, but I'll try to pick up the steel tomorrow. I'll definitely get the muffler mounted up in the next couple days though. Other than that I recharged the AC for better defogging.

Now to go play in the snow! :steer:

Looking good.:) My DD Acura got totalled so I'm currently looking for a 3rd gen Runner to replace it. It looks like 5 speeds are rare 'cuz all the ones up in my neck of the woods are autos.

Thanks! I also wish you the best of luck, it's hard finding nice 3rd gens in the NW. And prepare to pay more for a nice one with good history... But they're worth it!

Going to weld on the muffler at a buddy's house this Friday... I'll try and remember to take some pics!

You are getting all sorts of stuff done!

Thanks man! I'm definitely having fun with it, I love this 4runner.

The Wife unit is requiring me to do the crawlspace insulation that I've been promising, but once that's done I'll be able to attack the sliders and spacers.

Have you had good luck with any local places for alignments?

Not close to you! LOL

Down south?

The only options I have up here are the Yota dealer ($90), Les Schwab ($60), Firestone ($80), and some smaller places that all seem to run $60. Not sure who to go to. I know some people who have had good luck with Schwab for this but I've also heard many horror stories from the VW crowd. But then again, they are the VW crowd.

Got the new muffler in! And of course I forgot to take pics... though it was in a dark driveway, 30 degrees, and we were drinking beer and welding. It turned out great. Sounds mean but not annoyingly loud.

I'll snap a pic later and maybe try to get a video for the sound change.
