97 LX450 Floor Gets Hot

My floor gets very hot on long distance drives. The sliders on the pass side gets hot too. On the last trip to CO, I installed this heat shielding under the carpet. The heat barrier has alum foil on one side and a high density carpet on the other (from JCWhitney) and it's pretty inexpensive. This process reduced the heat in the cab appreciably I thought. My wife concurred with my opinion.

My 80 is also very warm inside. Stainless down pipes and better heat shields will help..... but it is really just another reason to cut the roof off.
