hello, I have a 95 4runner manual..It does have 275K..for quite some time now..When i step on the gas it has a jerking throttle type of thing,as opposed to smooth power..It can be quite annoying...It has been 75k since a tune up...I am not sure if this could be a fuel prob?..Plugs?..Injectors? ..This has been a good ride for me..I would sure love to get this sorted..Any feed back on this?...Ty.

After a little research i am thinking new plugs and wires and a new fuel filter would be a good start for this problem..?

I would start with the free stuff: check the intake hose and fittings, check all the vacuum lines and hoses, check wiring and grounds, check adjustment of the TPS. Have you checked the ecu for any codes?

I supposed you have the 3ltr engine. I don't know much about that, but I did have a similar issue with a 22re a little while back. Found out that the movement of the flam in the AFM was not smooth and consistent. It would catch and bounce in certain areas causing lack of power and then surges.

I end up messing with the AFM flapper in my '89 every so often. Last time I did the usually sanding off of the corrosion of the AL where the flapper moves, and then sprayed some generic dry lube on it. It has gone longer without issues.

Lots of things to look at that are free and then start with cheap stuff then on to bigger Like above vacuum lines check for cracks holes etc. Air filter Hold it up to sunlight can you see light? check all your fluids topped up? burnt? Carbon build up in your throttle body? fuel filter Change oil spark plugs wires cap rotor Pcv valve if any Injectors, Timing Cars/trucks need Fuel air and spark start with thoses ..After that i would look into a compression check see if the pistons/valves are gettting worn out maybe time for scrap or rebuild Any engine light on look into that first I just answered a problem with someones engine ..turned out the root of the evil cluncker was 1 knock sensor wire that made 3 codes and a higher gas eatting motor

What i have done so far..
New plugs and wires-
Fuel filter-..Still no diff...I reckon i with try fuel injectors fuel system clean next...It feels like a fuel issue but i do not know?

adjust your throttle cable and try bending your gas pedal back off of the floor. My 89 v6 truck had very harsh throttle engagement and I adjusted the cable and bent the pedal back out. Over the years the gas pedal can become pushed down towards the floor from use.
