94 torque converter lock-up

How do you know if your torque converter is locked?

Had a fellow 80 owner out for a drive and he said it’s not locking up?

I know nothing about auto transmissions🤦‍♂️

Truck drives fine otherwise, it’s been like this since I’ve had it, and I didn’t know it’s not locking🤷‍♂️

Drive at a steady highway speed on a warm engine. Tap the brakes enough to light up the brake lights, but not enough to actually brake. The engine RPM should jump up by something like 200 RPM. If it doesn't, then it wasn't in lockup.
