I am new so please excuse any errors in my lingo or knowledge of my truck. I am doing my best to learn in real-time via this forum and YouTube videos. My past experience was owning a 100-series that ran without fail.

Backstory:
- I purchased the truck in January. It had an intermittent rough idle, with the idle speed around 1,000 RPM. A mechanic set the ignition timing back to the factory spec in June while I was getting some other work done.
- The VAF (AFM?) is aftermarket Henkyo. Unclear on when this was installed as it isn't covered in any of the records shared for the vehicle when I purchased it.
- About ten days ago I noticed a weak acceleration response and return of the rough idle, but much more intense. The check engine light came on and I got a code 25 (lean air/fuel mixture).
- Visual inspection of all hoses and connectors
- Noticed the VAF connector had come partially loose due to a broken locking connector (the plastic piece that clips it in); plugged it back in firmly and gave it a spin around the block, but barely made it back due to the weak acceleration response and engine felt like it was on the verge of stalling
- Removed the VAF and inspected as I thought maybe the solder joints had broken when the connector came loose; no obvious damage was seen (see photos)
- Is there anything else in particular I should test with the VAF since I have already taken in out and opened it? Was it a mistake to open this? Photos attached.
- Once I put it back in, I will be attempting my first smoke test to check the hoses.
- Is there anything else I can or should test on my own for a code 25? I understand there are tests for VAFs and the 02 sensors, but it might be over my head.
