I'm having a problem with my rear drum brake, passenger side on my 94 4wd pickup with the 3.0 V6. I was trying to contract the brake shoes so I could get the drum off and instead I went the wrong way and expanded them to the point I can't turn the drum at all. My first question is now that I'm confused on the direction, which way, up or down to contract the shoes? I've tried screwing in two m8 bolts before hand but I could see the metal starting to crack a bit around the one hole so I stopped. I've been trying to press one screwdriver in the hole where the adjuster nut/wheel is to free the arm while trying to turn the adjuster wheel but I'm not having any luck. Could someone please help me with this, I really need this truck for work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
