Should a tail lamp relay (in fuse box) feel hot to the touch? I've worked out most other wiring problems, but the relay gets hot even with a new fuse box. I ran a continuity check between the terminals of the relay and it reads good, but others have told me the relay itself could still be bad. Nothing else seems wrong, except when I turn my running lights on........Any help would be greatly apppreciated.....thanks

All my blinkers, headlights, tailights, backup lights work fine. I only noticed the relay feeling hot when I first bought the truck about 3 weeks ago. Hazard lights work fine. It seems the only thing this relay controls is the running lights in the rear. I pulled the relay out of the fuse box and everthing still worked, except I had no tail lights(running lights). Thanks for the welcome....

The relay I'm referring to actually looks like a turn signal flasher on other vehicles. It's the rounded, 3 prong type that plugs into the top of the fuse box. I bought the truck and it was wrecked on the driver's side. It had some problems in the fuse box itself, so I switched out the fuse box with another one. I found out it was getting hot when I drove home one night and I was checking another fuse and noticed it about burned me when I felt it...I unplugged it and it cooled down. So for now, I haven't been driving it at night...lol
