93 4runner speed sensor question

Hi there, my dads 93 v6 auto 4runner's electronic speed sensor on the transfer case is not working anymore. I can get one from a 93 v6 4runner STANDARD, but is it the same part?? I called Toyota and they said no, but then again I don't always believe them!

I'm pretty sure the autos and manuals had different speed sensors. Marlin Crawler sells a sensor that specifically says for 92-95 with gear driven transfer case (Auto's have chain driven cases)
