It won't go up. It's been working fine until about 20 minutes ago. The motor engages fine but nothing moves. I've pulled the back panel off but I can't tell heads from tails. When the motor engages the gears don't move at all. Is there a common problem to look for or do I just need to tear it apart and go at it? Thanks, Jes

It's likely the teeth are stripped off either the pinion gear on the motor, or the arms the lift the glass up. Regardless, you're gonna have to start tearing it apart.

yeah sounds like somthing like that, the rear window on my surf has a similar problem, you have to pull it up at the same time as the motors going. i took it apart and the gear inside that the motor drives has 3/4 of its teeth missing. ive looked it up and apparently this problem is super common. like 9/10 surfs do it. thanks toyota. ive done nothing bout mine as of yet but itll need a new drive gear. good luck!
