first let say thanks to the guys that helped me out on the booster! now here's a hard one for ya! or at least i think so! ;) my truck will not start in the mornings(especially if it's cold) it will turn over an over , i have to put a charger on my battery so it won't go dead. then i try an try til it finally juggs to a start! i changed my fuel filter, i checked my battery an alt. i also changed my "cold start injector" but no luck! this is my ONLY form of transportation. i don't know what or where to even begin looking! here's the catch: once it starts and is warmed up i can turn it off an in again ALL day with NO problems at all! it only acts like this after it sits for longer than 8 to 10 hrs.! wtf?! so please help!!!! thank u !

You could have a fuel pressure leak, though it usually takes (at most) 10 seconds of cranking to re prime the system.....maybe a leak and a weak fuel pump?

If your vehicle is a manual....then turn the key to the start position without depressing the clutch, and without pressing the clutch start button. This should turn the pump on without cranking the motor. After about 5-10 seconds, or til you hear a change in the tone of the fuel pump....maybe longer in your case, depress the clutch and the truck will then crank. If it starts faster than usual then I say its fuel related as I said above.

If its an auto, there are methods to engaging the fuel pump in the "on" position, using either the MAF, or the OBD1 port. But since I cant remeber of hand which pins need to be jumped, ill stop talking and let someone else do it. :D

^ it is, she opened this thread in a wrong spot, should have it locked up and/or combined IMHO.

I thought this looked familiar :D

I had one on my 90 4Runner, and have seen several coolant temp sensors cause this problem. Check engine light ever come on? If nothing else check the connector, I think its green, in a coolant passage on the back of the intake in the center of the motor. An overheating reading will starve it for fuel (like none) and a cold reading (-77F) will give it waaaay to much. If I remember correctly, unplugged (open circuit) reads hot (+330F), and shorted with a paper clip is cold. Having a scanner makes testing much easier, but the sensor should only be around $30 and is fairly easy to swap. Good luck, hope this helps.

Check the MAF it can get stuck being a mechanical door that swings it can get stuck when it is cold and cause teh fuel to be off, just whack the MAF with a hammer but not primal whacking just controled, if thats not it it is something with the fuel being off, like they said above, by the way i have a 1991 4unner with the V6

did you purge the cold start injector?
