I have an entire rolled 91 truck for sale. Complete with transfer and trans, drivelines, etcetera for 250. If you are willing to wait until the Christmas break I can yank the trans/tcase, or you can come pick up the whole thing. I'm in Utah though. I can be reached at 801-814-1034 Marc.

Ok, Its a 4 speed manuel is there any issue in replacing it with a 5?
Does anyone have either one?
Kyle

Shouldn't be any issue, unless it doesn't fit in where the 4 speed fits?

I'm a little confused though.... I thought they stopped making 4 speeds in the early 80s........

Do you see it here? :

Or can you get the tranny code of the info plate on the door jam?

IIRC, the '89-'90 models were still available with the 4 speed manual if you opted for the carb instead of EFI. They're pretty common the 2WD's of that vintage.

Hmmmmm I guess that makes sense..... sort of.... I saw a 2wd with a carb and a build date of 92 in a junk yard one time. I wonder why they did away with the 4 speeds on the heavier 4wds, but not the 2wds? Seems if overdrive was ok with a carb on a 4wd, why wouldn't you want it on a 2wd? Cost probably.
