I really, REALLY should be able to remember how to do this, but since it's late, I'm over 39 years old, and I got a brain-fart going on I'll make it into a post so anyone else searching can figure it out. (Yeah, I searched :meh: .)

How does the cupholder on the dash come out? I kept thinking you moved two tabs at either side, but if not then it's off to pull the lower part of the dash as well as the climate control trim panel to get to the screws.

Pics would be appreciated.

This is for Wimpy, right?

1. Pop the rear hatch
2. Borrow a friend's truck with a winch
3. run winch line through cab of truck
4. attach winch line to cupholder
5. activate which while backing up assistant vehicle.

Should come right out.

On a serious note, I've played with one, and I think there's a screw inside the spring-metal tongue that limits/stabilizes the bottom of it, and you have to pull the tongue, and then you'll have access to screws on the side. But I may just be confusing it with the structure of the ash tray...

Must be nice to have a cup holder, the first gen 4runners did not have these hi tech gadgets. Well actually I was wrong I have two cup holders, a right and left hand, just makes steering and shifting a bit hard. Hahaha

BFP

I think a BFP would do wonders to get it out.

Big F****n Prybar,just my 2 cents.:lol::lol:

:flipoff2: Customer's rig. I am not about to tear into a perfectly good dash and cupholder to find out how. :lol:

Well, what can I say, there's no kill like overkill.
