kinda complicated,
ive got a 88 toyota rear axle hybrid with a fj40 center section. I want to run a elocker(fzj80) on the fj40 center section with the 88 toyota truck shafts. I want to upgrade my shafts to a chromoly shaft. My question is this; for the elocker to work, one of the shafts needs extended splines on the inner side of the axle shaft for the elocker collar to ride, how can i accomplish this on the 88 truck shafts? Who can do this? bobby long?

I would never go thru all that trouble and expense to run that e-locker. Search over in the 80 forum, look for the carnage that happens when they fail. Big time PITA to get it fixed. Besides, having re-geared a couple of them, they are a PITA to work on. No side adjusters like we are accustomed to, it's all shims.

Install an ARB, done.

Thanks,

I would tend to agree with KLF, and you can sell the e-locker and make back most of the cash that the ARB will set you back. Grizzly also sells their ZIP locker, very similar to ARB that is getting pretty good reviews, just not as spendy.

If you are set on the e-locker then I would check with Long or I am sure that a good axle shop can take care of the splines for you.
