88 4runner?

My buddy has a mint 88 4runner that has an intermittent problem that I am looking for some input on. Occasionally it wont start, the lights light up and the electricity flows when the key is turned but nothing, not even a click in the starter. Battery is good, I am thinking starter solenoid, any thoughts?

Check the voltage going to the small wire on the starter (with the key turned to start, make sure it's not on the starter!!!!!), if it's much lower than the battery, then you have an old wiring issue....

is the clutch pushed all the way in?
is there a no-start kill switch?

Ill have him check the voltage coming off the small wire and make sure the clutch is in all the way. Dont think there is a switch.

Any other thoughts?
