88 4Runner exhaust manifold question

Hello all,

I have an 88 4Runner equipped with a 22RE, but I am missing some parts. I need to buy a new exhaust manifold, but I am wondering if anyone knows if the sensor is in the pipe, or manifold?

On an 88 and newer the O2 sensor should be in the pipe underneath the vehicle. 87and earlier the sensor was in the manifold, that was when they changed from a single wire to a 4 wire heated sensor. Newer manifolds can be made to fit a later style by blocking off the hole.

Your 02 sensor should be right in front of the cat like said. I've seen brand new manifolds on ebay for 30 bucks. Be careful with the exhaust studs.
