What's wrong with your cable? And where have you ordered the new cables from? If you haven't yet you could try car parts discount. Or better yet a junkyard.

The rubber has cracked away from the inner metal housing, and it's kinked so it hangs up. I can pull it off, lube it up and it's ok for a few weeks then back to sticking, I've tried oreilly, napa, autozone, etc

I've had pretty good luck ordering stuff for my 88 pickup on car parts discount. They have really good prices also. Or you could try a junkyard. Bet it would be less then 10 bucks at junk yard. Or just monkey rig urs together to get it to work.

Lol I've monkey rigged it already using some rubber hose/hose clamps, but when it starts sticking 65 miles from home and wants to stay at 4000rpms it's a PITA, and I don't wanna have it break on me 15miles down the beach at night an hour from home

Yeah I was just on there getting prices for a few parts for mine. Was gonna look but came back here to check what year it was for. Sorry. Like I said before, it wouldn't hurt to check a junkyard or 2.

cable

recently changed mine got it from i think was a utomatic 22r its working pretty good &good price junk yard.:ban:

I was shopping for EFI parts at LC Engineering and decided to pick up one of these http://www.lceperformance.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=1035025 for my 84 2WD. The OEM housing is split, cable stretched and is binding at about half throttle.
Years ago I put one on my 86 4WD and the throttle was buttery smooth. Expecting the same once I install this one, possibly this afternoon.
