84 4 runner fuel pump question

replacing my fuel pump and the kit didn't give me a new insulator to separate the pump from the block. the old insulator is cracked and missing part of a side is it still good.

no because that is not an insulator, that is a gasket. put it on like that and your truck will soon be known as the valdeseII

No, it's actually called an Insulator. There are gaskets on either side of it.

I would think you could get one of those at NAPA or something, if not then Toyota should still have them available.

klf did every truck have one of those?
i do not remember mine having one when i took the fuel pump off.

I'm pretty sure they all did, but I'm no expert on the carb'd trucks. My '84 had one, and it shows up on the EPC, so AFAIK it's supposed to be there. I believe something gets damaged if you don't have it there, maybe the cam, can't remember.

well i can not check cause all that is gone off mine.
but i do not remember taking any thing off but the fuel pump, but it could have stuck to the pump.
